Sheridan’s First Post China Flight – 6/24/08

Posted by BaBa under: Travel.

We got up early and prepared for the flight. We both got ready and then woke up a sleepy Magoo. He was at full speed in a short time and we did great getting through security and arrived at the gate. We had a great flight and he did super. We touched down and got the luggage and rode the bus to the Hertz lot.

We had reserved a car with GPS in it. The first car did not have this. Back to the counter and get a Hyundai Sonata. You guessed it after loading the trunk — No GPS. Back to the counter again, MaMa then hit the jackpot as we got her dream vehicle – a Toyota Sienna Mini-Van.

We arrived at Centennial and had lunch at Red Robin. He was starved and we all enjoyed the meal. We made a quick stop at Office Depot to tape up the package (had to carry the craft paper and photo separate because of security).

It is hard to believe that I was here almost one year ago to sign our LOA. That day represented the reality that we had left the land of limbo and would soon begin the last phase of our trip to get our son. I will always have fond memories of this trip and conference for the milestone that this represents in our journey.

We had a quick trip to get to CCAI after lunch and then arrived. Josh showed us quickly around and we were able to meet Lily as well. We gave them the photo and the card and were soon back on the road to Cooper Mountain. We passed through a long tunnel (Johnson Tunnel) and Sheridan liked the tunnel. He also liked seeing the snow on the mountains once we passed through the tunnel.

We stayed the night in Silverthorne and had time to settle in and unpack before going to visit in the little town where there were outlet stores. We did a little shopping and then got groceries for our stay. We came back to the room for dinner that we had gotten at the Grocery.

Tomorrow we are traveling a very short distance to Cooper and will check in at the conference site at the ski resort.
