July 5th – Fireworks

On the 5th, we went and ran errands around town. We brought signing videos to Laura and met her at Babies R Us. We ended doing lunch at Chili’s with their family. It was a good meal and we got to plan for a dinner and playdate in the near future.
We went to REI and bought Sheridan a hiking type water bottle by camelback. It is like a grown up sippy. We also got him a BUILT neoprene sleeve to keep it cold. This will allow MaMa to carry 24 oz at one time. Boy, he can drink water like a fish. At the mall, we got MaMa a small pocketbook that better fits her new role as MaMa. We also got Sheridan a silver chain for his jade cross. He looks “stylin” with it.
We had just enough time to come home and prepare a picnic. Magoo was asleep in the car, so I prepared the picnic while MaMa waited with the sleeping one. We were going to the county firework show. We sat at the park and listened to live music while the sun set and waited. I forgot to mention every politician in the world was there with a tent as the primary is July 15th. In spite of this sideshow, we had a great time. He was afraid of the fireworks as we had predicted. He said “too loud” and was scared. However, he was also curious and the curiosity won out so that he could not help but look. We held his hand and explained to him that fireworks were invented in China. We will try fireworks again this summer at the Laser Show at Stone Mountain.
It was a great ending to the holiday weekend.
