Chair lift, Snow and Denver – 06/27/08

Posted by BaBa under: Travel .

Today was our last day at the conference. The conference would be over around noon. After the final closing session, we were going to the top of the mountain. MaMa had suggested that just BaBa and Sheridan go up top. I got free lift tickets for both of us and up we went. I had hold of him and we rode the chair lift ever higher into the sky. It was wonderful to get to the top and see the snow as well as touch the snow.

Sheridan did not really like the idea that the snow was cold and wet when he lost his footing and sat down in the snow. However, he did like looking at the snow. We walked around and took some pictures. We even saw a man dressed as a cow at the top. He was promoting breast cancer awareness. Sheridan DID NOT want a picture taken with the cow man.

We had an orange soda together and I appreciated God’s handiwork in developing these beautiful mountains and his grace in giving us this remarkable child to raise as our son. The daylight grill opened while we were there and we were able to get burgers hot off the grill to carry down the mountain for lunch. So we came down the mountain on the chair lift with memories, pictures and hot food. What a surprise for Mama when we showed up with hot food. We ate lunch in the shadow of the ski lift and prepared to travel to Denver.

We arrived in Denver and checked in the motel. It was newly painted, but not the best as far as location or service. No rollaway beds. Had to get the microwave and fridge brought to the room and change to two double beds. Oh well, it was close to downtown. We went downtown and walked around the walking shopping mall. We spied a Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Company. Magoo’s favorite food is SHRIMP. MaMa got ¾ of a pound bucket and he got at least half if not more of the bucket.

We also found that the next day there was an Asian festival downtown so we returned to the hotel and rested while planning to visit the festival tomorrow.
