School Baby Shower

Today we had a Baby Shower at school for Sheridan. It had been left until the next to last day of school. We both held felt a little shunned as each month went with only one word mentioned in passing in January of 2008. We both felt hurt not because we needed any gifts, but because we had wanted to celebrate Sheridan’s arrival. Other departments in the school routinely hold these celebrations and we have done this as a department as well. Then Sheridan come home and the silence was deafening.

Well I am happy to report that we were not snubbed, but just forgotten in the chaotic activity of daily school life. We had a really good time. Sheridan loved the cake although he thought that it was another birthday cake. I can see how he would be confused as he has had only a few cakes. Sheridan received a little helicopter toy and he really has enjoyed playing with it.
However his confusion did not keep him from enjoying the cake. I am glad to report that everyone had a good time sitting and chatting while enjoying some lemonade, ice cream and cake. It was a good way to end this school year. Thank goodness summer is here.
