Artwork in Sheridan’s Room
Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .
We have finished decorating Sheridan’s Bedroom. We did not choose to do a theme room, but a room with a standard paint scheme that we can update as he grows. We choose tan for the wall with accent colors of Chinese Red for the currents and Royal Blue. We left the walls blank on purpose. The room was ready for Sheridan when he came home, but the walls were blank. Now the walls are complete. We choose to wait in order to use any items we were given and those that we would buy while in China.
We found some wonderful prints in Guangzhou at the Orphan store. We just got these framed. We also had a picture from his shower that all who attended signed with their best wish. One of my favorites was a dragon puppet which is now hanging in the room. Also from Guangzhou is Sheridan’s name in Chinese Characters that Jordan (a shop owner of some fame) did for him in Guangzhou.
Finally we were thrilled to add a cross that Nana and Gaga (grandparents) gave him at Christmas and also a clay tablet that Father Scott and family gave him for his baptism. So many memorable items hanging now in his room instead of items just placed there for decoration.
Enjoy the pictures from his room.
