Medical Updates

Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .

We have had consultations with Dr. Fabergas concerning his wrist. We met Dr. Fabergas on January 3rd. We were really comfortable with his knowledge, bedside manner and care for Sheridan. He had to have x-rays again and he was so good. The nurses commented that no other 2 year old ever has held his arm still and in position for several x-rays.

I missed the x-rays as I got a call from the county court with the information concerning Sheridan’s re-adoption. I had made an error in dates on the filing, forgot to include the scanned signatures on our homestudy update and they wanted the address for the notary in Nanjing. The first 2 are easy fixes. The last is not easy. They wanted the notary’s address and credentials. Not going to happen. So I would have to work plan B which is getting a local person to verify the translation listing his or her address and qualifications. We were going to chose Plan B.

Dr. Fabergas had a good idea what was going on with Sheridan after the X-rays. It was not a major problem and something that could be fixed with surgery. To be sure, he wanted an MRI. This would be the next step. His MRI was scheduled for the next week. He did fine at the MRI, but awoke a little drunk and hungry. His first word was down then followed by the magic food word — cracker. Dr. Fabergas called me a week later with the results. It was that he has a lymphovenous malformation of the right wrist. There is a possibility that it could return the surgeon does not get all of it the first time. It all depends on the skill of the surgeon. We have a very good opinion of Dr. Fabergas and are not worried about the results. He recommended at pediatric surgeon, Dr. Glasson, to speak with about his circumcision.

She will work on him at the same time. Dr. Julie Glasson will do his circumcision at the same time. We met with her on Wednesday of last week and it was obvious that she is a great doctor. Amy had said that she is one of the nicest doctors and this is true. She is really laid back, but knows her patients. Dr. Fabergas had told her about Sheridan when they were in surgery last week. So I am really content with his treatment and the doctors who are executing the plan. We have chosen the first week of June since I will be home from school and he will just about be finished with t-ball.

All in all the best possible news we could hope for and the best timing as well. Thanks be to God.

One Comment so far...
