Sheridan’s 6 month Homestudy Update
Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .
Today was the big day — 6 month homestudy update. Mr. Magoo helped MaMa clean as we completed the tidying up this morning. Soon it was time and we were still scurrying around as we wanted to hang a picture in his room and the clock in the bathroom. We completed these tasks just in time along with selecting the photos for our social worker.
We had a nice easy visit. No hard questions, just updating the records as his adjustment is going well. He was a little cranky and hungry and so got to have a time out while she was here. This just positively demonstrates our discipline style. She left with the information needed and we checked off another step in the paperwork process. That sounds a little jaded and I do not mean it to be. I am thankful that their is a requirement to follow-up on the placements. I also thankful that there is a support system that is in place for those that have challenges in their adjustment to their forever families.
We ran a few errands and then I worked on the photos for the Blessed Journey Mentoring handbook and visited Dan and Susan’s house to drop off the CD’s and take them their matted photo. You can check out the photo on their site at the link above.
As to the pictures, I looked through my photos from the tourist trip in 2006 to China and our adoption trip in 2007. I was looking for photos that represented China to me — mostly people pictures and photos of families and children that might go in the handbook. By the time I had chosen the photos, I was happy with the selection and hope that they will help illustrate the handbook for families that are in the waiting stage.
