Some Days Just Make You Smile a Little More

Today has been a wonderful day. Donna called this morning and asked Sheridan and I out on a play date. Since Shelby and Sheridan’s last play date was emotionally overcharged, we chose a neutral ground – the mall. Shelby and Sheridan took a few minutes to warm up to each other, but once they did, boy did they have fun. They chased each other, held hands, gave kisses, rode in the ice cream truck (mechanical ride) and overall, had a great time. Donna and I tried to take pictures, but the Picture Storm Trooper spotted us and told us, “No picture taking in the mall!!” Donna was still able to get some shots and I’m sure she will post them soon. We ended the play date at Chik-Fil-A so the kids could play on the playground. Shelby showed Sheridan the ropes and save for a couple of well placed slaps (Sheridan is learning to move away quickly), all went well.
We got home and I was checking my blogroll and saw that Santa had just visited the Ladmans with the best Christmas present ever. They must have been very, very good this year!
First Friday, our adoption support group, meets this Friday night. We have so much to celebrate! This Christmas, it is easy to remember ‘The Reason for The Season”.
