Night Night — Milestones and Lessons
Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .
Well tonight we achieved a small victory as I put Sheridan back to bed when he woke up at 10:45. Just like little Cindy Loo Who from the Grinch — he wanted only a glass of water (and this goes without saying MaMa). I heard him from the sunroom. He was not loud and MaMa was still sleeping. I told him that MaMa was night night and the he will be going back to night night. His usual response MaMa. Then came the familiar cry of Water. So off we went downstairs for a small sip of water. I then put him back in the bed — no kiss. I turned on his angels (stars on the ceiling) and told him night night along with I love you. He gave me that kiss and a quiet I love you.
PRICELESS.
Do you appreciate the little things in life more with a child — YES. You just have to try and see the world with wonder. My all time favorite original thought — Common sense is uncommon. Just observe so called norm in parenting or
families.
Lessons that I have learned recently or been reminded of —
- All is right when everyone you love is with you.
- Hold hands when going out in the world.
- Hold hands when given the simple command — Parking Lot.
- Discipline is not a bad thing — we all need rules and consequences.
- I am not his best friend (I knew this one, but so many do not).
- Look at the world in Wonder.
- Don’t be afraid to marvel at God’s World and express the WOW factor.
- Love each other, each day, with all your heart.
- In everything, Give Thanks to God
I love you — our little Magoo — sleep peacefully with the Angels watching over you.
