Life with a Toddler

Life with a toddler is wonderful! Sheridan is active, inquisitive, and enthusiastic about life. He has a very busy social calendar and is learning new things everyday. He understands everything we say and he is working SOOO hard to say words.

In the past couple of weeks, we have joined Gymboree and have joined a FCC playgroup. We have visited the zoo and had a wonderful time. He has been to a FCCWait potluck dinner at Donna’s and played so hard with the other children. Sheridan has visited Gianna at CHOA after her surgery and made her laugh when he played hide and seek with BaBa. What a precious smile and laugh came from Gianna even though she was in so much pain. Sheridan met his big sister when she visited from Minnesota. She adores him and he adores her.

We are still in the middle of construction. If all goes well, they should be done in a couple of weeks. It will be nice to get the house back in order. No matter how much I clean, the house gets dirty immediately. Very frustrating!

We made a mistake last week and left Sheridan in the nursery at church. Even though I explained that they should come get us if he started calling for MaMa or BaBa, the head of nursery decided he just needed to be redirected. Great strategy for a regular 2 year old, but not one just home from China a month. We have paid heavily for our error with Sheridan having night terrors every night and waking many times looking for us. Live and learn!!!

This is another busy week – going to the Asian Market to get more snacks, Gymboree classes, going with me to the doctor and the nail salon, going to the fair in Perry (chaparoning FBLA students from BaBa’s high school), our church barbeque on Saturday and a lunch date with Lennah.

Our lives are busy and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We have been blessed by God to be responsible for this beautiful child and he is going to experience all of God’s goodness and grace.
