Wishes and Praying

Posted by BaBa under: The Waiting Game .

We are in the wishing and praying stage of the adoption. We have not posted much as we have waited. We are in the review room and have been asked to send the two medications that MaMa takes for her bi-polar. We went to her Doctor with a drafted letter listing the two medications along with a very warm and fuzzy strong statement of support. I drafted the letter after consulting with several people in our agency.

The nurse at her doctor’s office is Asian and melted when seeing the little guy’s photos. This was a good sign and when her Doctor appeared, he talked to us about the adoption, looked at the photos and said to bring the letter in. He would not stand in the way of us doing a good deed. This was a great relief as sometimes it is hard to get a Doctor to agree to wording that has been carefully worked out in advance. They either don’t want to include patient information or personally vouch for the patient or want to write their own letter.

We breathed a sigh of relief when we left his office. The letter would be ready the next business day. MaMa picked up the signed copies and delivered them to the agency. They faxed it to the home office which faxed it to China and was there the last week of April. It took 5 days to get our response back to China and the only delay was that Doctor’s office was closed on Friday and that accounted for 3 of the 5 days. All in all I think this was a quick turnaround. I just pray that the Chinese were just wanting to dot their i’s and cross their t’s or whatever you do with Chinese characters in order to approve and move the file to the match room for LOA and TA.

Our agency worked with me on the draft of the letter for the doctor. It was reviewed by the top people at home office. Once MaMa dropped off the signed copy, we were told that they had a really good feeling about it. That reassured us, but as time has passed the worries have crept in.

Now we wait and the waiting has gotten harder. The Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs is closed for 1 week at the first of May. Time passes and others with our same LID/LOI date are traveling to get their children.

We are just praying faithfully and wishing to get the LOA so that we know we will be traveling to get our son. While we wait, we are trying to keep our spirits up. Keep us and Sheridan in your prayers for a speedy LOA.

We are going to try and keep busy with finishing his room and working on a 100 wishes quilt square exchange. We have been receiving some squares and I will begin to post a couple a day for the next several days.
