Almost Ready to Travel!!!

Posted by MaMa under: Friends and Family; Preparations; Travel .

We leave for China in less than 48 hours!!! We are packed and just have a few things to do around the house. BaBa woke up this morning and has the dreaded heat rash all over his legs. At least he was able to get a doctor’s appointment for this afternnoon. BaBa’s heat rash makes him feel miserable and starting out the trip to China with it is not good at all. The heat and humidity in China will only make it worse. Hopefully, the doctor will have some fast acting medication for it.

Just a note to all our blog readers. As you know, we don’t allow comments on the blog. Our friends that want to comment have our email addresses and that is how we get our comments. However, we have decided to enable comments while we are in China. From August 1 through August 18, you will be able to leave comments on the blog. Please be nice as this is an extra special time in our lives and the chronicle of our journey to get our son. Sheridan will treasure your comments in the years to come as will we.

The following are the blogs of the other families that are a part of our travel group. They are all very interesting people and we cannot wait to meet them.

Ralph and Jim – adopting Grant (1 month younger than Sheridan – they are roomates) – http://bush-resko.redthreadkids.org/
Nancy and Rich – adopting Jacob – (about a year older than Sheridan) – http://www.jacobcominghome.blogspot.com/
Belinda – adopting Mary Audrey – (same age as Sheridan – they are roomates) – http://bringinghomemaryaudrey.blogspot.com/
Kelly and Al – adopting John – (one month older than Sheridan – they are roomates) – http://www.singletonstochina.com/

Follow along as we all journey to our children.

Hi, Thanks for your super ideas on my adoption forum! I’m so happy you are traveling! I’m going to follow your trip! I’ll have to think if I know any good cure for heat rash. Baby powder with corn starch feels good. Alovera is great for skin. It’s hot in China! I hope you can stay cool! Many Blessings, Amy Heymann

Yeah! I’m so excited that at long last it’s time to GO. I enjoyed reading about Rainbow. She’s going to be the best big sister/dog ever. Our dog keeps sniffing around in Jack’s room searching for new smells and is not finding any. She’s a smart dog and has “mothered” our other children, so I know she’s desperate to find out what’s about to happen. A new addition to her “pack” no doubt. I can’t wait to follow along as you get your precious son! Have a safe and wonderful trip, Sara Shoemaker
