100 Wishes Quilt — 33rd Square
Posted by BaBa under: Friends and Family; One Hundred Wishes Quilt .
This is a very special wish as it is from our “daughter” who has as much “adopted” us as we have “adopted” her. She lost her mother to cancer many years ago and we were re-united with her while she was in college. I taught her as a high school student and can still remember the first time I saw her. Her cheery personality, bright smile and caring attitude are still trademarks of her warm personality. In fact, on that occassion at school, she was greeting the custodians which is rare for most students to even notice these people who do a vital job in obscurity at school.
We have a long history that I will not recount here, but it is a good one and one that keeps us together as a family. For our new readers, it was my honor to walk her down the aisle at her wedding. One of my top ten (or so) moments in life. Here is her wish for her new brother.
To my dearest family:
To my baby brother,
There are so many different types and ways to be a family today.
But to me, if you have people who love you not matter what,
who care about what happens to you,
who pull together through thick and thin,
and only want what’s best for you,
That’s a Family.
That’s US.
Love always,
Your big sis,
Tanya
