Match Room and Early Father’s Day
Posted by BaBa under: Friends and Family; The Waiting Game .
After teaching tonight, I got an email from Colorado that we are now in the MATCH ROOM. We should be able to download TPII (Travel Packet II) soon — hopefully tomorrow. We are still waiting for the LOA, but we are one GIANT step closer. In the Match Room, we are issued LOA (Letter of Acceptance) and then later Travel Authorization (TA). It really looks like that we will travel at the end of July.
Sheridan — We are one step closer to getting you.
Our unofficially adopted daughter sent me a Father’s Day package today. It was really touching. She is a former student of mine and has joined our family after losing her mother several years ago. I got the honor of walking her down the aisle two years ago for her wedding in St. Croix. One of the best moments in my life.
Anyway, I got a package with 2 cards (one from her and one from her and her husband) and the new book “The Reagan Diaries” by Ronald Reagan. As I have said before, Reagan is the finest president in my lifetime and one of my real heroes as far as leadership. I remember being on the other side of the world in Luxor, Egypt when I heard that he had died. I felt an overwhelming sadness and watched all of the news coverage that evening.
It was a perfect gift. I appreciated the gift and knowing that it was just the right book, but I loved the cards. Today I was floating with knowledge of our file being in the Match Room finally and with the loving wishes from our daughter up north. A great day also seeing MaMa’s face with the news and getting that hug from her saying we are really going to be parents.
