Day 4 Up North
Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life; Friends and Family; Travel .
Today was a day to play in the snow and to shovel the driveway. I worked on cleaning out the van and Magoo played in the snow. He had gotten a small snow shovel from Menards (a cross between Garden Ridge and Home Depot) while we shopped there yesterday. He was eager to try it out and wanted to make a snow tunnel. Well the snow is too powdery for that, but he still wanted to work with his shovel in the snow. He got right to it and hollowed out a spot in one the drifts in the front yard. He spotted the neighbor, Terry, fire up the snow plow on the 4 wheeler and that looked like fun. Terry took him around and cut a few doughnuts in the cul de sac. He thought that this was great fun.
He then decided to see how it would work on the driveway. He did a good job with that and I got the bigger shovel from the garage and helped finish off the job. Later we went to Culvers similar to a Dairy Queen except they serve Frozen Custard and Butter Burgers along with Fried Chicken. I had wanted to try it since it was something that was not back home. It was good. Magoo got a Oreo Sandwich as you can see he really enjoyed it.
He did comment to MaMa that he wanted to eat at Chick-Fil-A. She told him that there were not any up here. He said why not? Good fellow. He also told her that he had not eaten there in a really long time. Yes it has been over a month since he has had Mr. Cathy’s good cooking. Truett Cathy is the founder of Chick-Fil-A and was often in the Dwarf House (the original restaurant) when I was a child growing up. So I have always refered to it at as Mr. Cathy’s home cooking. Soon we will get you home to a good meal of Mr. Cathy’s home cooking.
