Day 2 Up North

Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life; Friends and Family; Travel .

After the crazy day at the airport, today was the first full day up north. We went out to the Mall of America today. We had planned to do this Saturday, but plans changed, so today we went there. We wanted to go ride the rides in the indoor Nickelodeon amusement park. The mall was busy, but hardly what you would call crowded. So we took advantage of the lack of crowds and activated one of his two free ride wrist bands.

He had a great time riding. What a difference a year makes as he could ride most of them himself. However, he wanted BaBa to ride with him so he could snuggle and cuddle with me on each ride. He is a lot better rider this year as well. He got to go on a swinging arm ride that brought him to the ceiling of the mall and then rotated down. He loved it. I could not ride this with him the first time. Then the lady let me ride with him the second time. I wish she had not. I let my stomach at the top of the ride as it rotated down. I now remember why I don’t ride roller coasters, log rides drop rides or anything too fast. I got off and the young attendant said it is worse when you close your eyes. I was holding on for dear life with my eyes closed. So much for being a daredevil amusement park rider. We will have to make sure he has a buddy with him when he gets big enough to ride the really adventursome rides as I will not be on them.

MaMa rode to log flume with him. He like it so much that they went back on it again. He had a great time and we will repeat the trip later this week as we still have one more unlimited ride wristband for him to use. We walked the mall (4 levels) and completed 2 of the levels. Magoo slept in his chariot as we walked. We then went to IKEA so that he could play in the indoor play area – Smaland. He had a good time while we relaxed. We then went home for a quick bite and bedtime.
