Thoughts of Praise and Inspiration

Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .

I was reading on our friend – Heather’s blog. I got the following passage from her site. She has several really good thoughts about the wait and quotations that she found comforting during that time. She is so right that time seems to go slow during the wait while it starts to fly when you return.

*Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west….Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth- everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made. Isaiah 43:5-7

We are coming up on 2 years since Magoo became an official part of the family. I prayed each week two of the psalms during the wait. Psalm 113 has now become a prayer of Thanksgiving instead of a prayer of hope. Both are from the NSRV (New Standard Revised Version) translation.

Psalm 113
1 Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord; praise the name of the Lord.
2 Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time on and forevermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of the Lord is to be praised.
4 The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high,
6 who looks far down on the heavens and the earth?
7 He raises the poor from the dust, and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8 to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people.
9 He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 86 was my main prayer to God for bringing Sheridan to our family especially during our critical time in the review room when questions were asked about our application to be his parents.

We continue to thank God each day for this blessing and for those that have also traveled to the far east or the ends of the earth to bring children home to their forever families. We get a special joy in helping those on the journey and when they return. It is amazing to see God’s handiwork in the formation of these families. We are especially thankful for the recent arrivals of Justin, Max and Ke Xin. We are still in pray for Fei Fei and her family who are on the last leg of their journey in Guangzhou China.

Our lives are so much richer because Mr. Magoo became our son and with community of friends that have also come through adoption community. To this we say “Thanks be to God.”
