Easter – Church and Eggs

Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .

Do not look for him in the tomb, for He is Risen. Alleluia, the Lord is Risen. Search for him not in the tomb, but in the faces of those you meet for God is with us. Each and everyone of us. Today we had a wonderful service at Church. We have rejoiced in being in the community of the faithful worshiping God. It has been a journey, but we are thankful to have found our Church home. We are still Epsicopalians, but we are currently attending a Lutheran Church. We started attending the church at the beginning of the year and have felt very comfortable with the liturgy and worship experience. They have wonderful contemporary music and it adds to the peaceful feeling of grace we receive when we worship. Magoo loves the music and everyone has really enjoyed seeing him each Sunday. We have a wonderful interim pastor who has started with us just about one month ago. The former pastor just retired but was very welcoming to us during our initial visits early this year.

Today, we had a different method of celebrating the Eucharist. We took communion by Intinction (dipping the wafer in the wine). We told Sheridan about the change for Easter and I told him to watch MaMa and do what she did. Our pastor told him the same thing when giving him the wafer and then made sure the cup was available to him. I am grateful that he has taken time to make sure that he get communion (something common in the Episcopal Church after the children have had learned about communion). It is uncommon for the Lutheran Church to have someone so young partake of the feast instead of just being blessed.
They had a wonderful Easter Egg hunt for the little ones Magoo went right out and found many, many eggs. Here are a couple of photos. He had a great time and all of us enjoyed breakfast after the egg hunt.

One Comment so far...
