University Celebration of Chinese New Year

Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .

During MaMa’s weekend out, Magoo and I went to the University to celebrate Chinese New Year. This was on Sunday after the accident on Saturday and MaMa was on the way home from the getaway. We met Donna with Faith and Shelby along with one of her fellow adoptive Moms and her daughter to enjoy the festivities. We arrived in plenty of time for the show and following dinner.

Well, things did not go as planned. We waited 30 minutes past the start time to be admitted into the theater. The doors finally opened and we were admitted. The event started almost 45 minutes late and this was a bad omen. First up was the Lion Dance. It was great and Magoo liked it so much that he kept asking when it was coming back. It was followed by a few speeches along with many different acts from signing to instrumentals to martial arts to a guitar solo. The program dragged on and dinner would follow the end of the program. It was too long for the kids.

Donna and her guests left first and then Magoo fell asleep. I woke him and we left. We all skipped dinner. Donna and her guests went to a Chinese restaurant while Magoo and I went home. He had been without seeing MaMa for 4 days and we decided to go home to have dinner with MaMa. It was good to see these two reunited and to inspect the car and see how MaMa was feeling. She is hurting. Her back is really in pain. Tomorrow, we will see how to get her feeling better in the coming days.
