Tuesday Night Dinner Out

It is conference week at school and I had stayed late for meetings. MaMa called and wanted to meet at Joe’s StoneCrab for dinner. Donna had called and suggested dinner there. This was a rare midweek treat. I would get a good meal with friends and my family before I had to teach that night.
I arrived early and had just enough time to complete the paperwork on the computer that I was planning to do before class. Soon the others arrived and I shutdown the computer to enjoy the night. The kid’s got to play before dinner and CJ also got to meet us for dinner as he works near the restaurant. This was a r.are treat to have all of us together in one spot.

We thoroughly enjoyed the adult conversation and the kids enjoyed playing. Sheridan likes playing with Shelby and looks up to both Caleb and Travis. It is important for him to have boys to play with. Almost all of the Chinese Playgroup are girls and he really enjoys their get togethers, but boys need boys too. We left the restaurant and went to a skateboarding, surfboarding store to look around. $200 for pants is too much to believe for me, but the kids got stickers and enjoyed the visual on the TV screens.

It was a nice night and one that we will have to repeat. With the schedule continuing 4 nights a week in the spring, I will have to find ways to spend time with Sheridan and MaMa on the nights I teach. My classes will be earlier than this term and so we will work in some dinners before or after class to break up the weekly schedule.
