God’s Handiwork
Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .
Today started off with a visit to a virtual friend. We had met Vanessa after our paperwork was complete and we had our referral. We talked on the phone and exchanged multiple emails as she was chasing papers and battling the USCIS to get her dossier complete before May 1 when the rules changed. Vanessa as a single lady would no longer qualify under the new China Rules. She made it and we followed her journey to get Ruby.
We finally got to meet at a playdate at her house. Her family is part of our red thread. I met her sister in Walmart when we had returned from our China tourist trip and were in the process of deciding on an agency and just starting our journey. I am sure that she thought who this strange guy is, but Stephanie stooped and talked to me for 45 minutes. After our conversation, I was convinced we could do this and were in fact called to choose our agency and begin the journey of our lives.
We helped Vanessa with her paperwork and government red tape and only latler discovered that her sister was the lady I spoke to in Walmart. God’s hand was in both of these meetings. I was amazed today as we sat and talked about the depth of relationships that God provides us. I was also struck by how perfect is both his timing and plans as we both have children that are just right for our families. Vanessa’s son Luke played with Sheridan while we talked. Ruby adores her older brother and he is so caring and sweet with her. He had told his Mom that this was the best gift that she had gotten for them. It works both ways as I saw the joy that was so evident in all of their faces.
We had a great time and appreciate the chance to spend time with friends. Vanessa made great pumpkin pie which was delicious and we talked while listening to the sounds of the children playing and laughing. Luke was great with Sheridan and it is a bonus that he is older than Sheridan. Sheridan needs boys to play with and older ones to show him how to play like a boy. This is truly music to our souls and must be so soothing for God to see his plans fullfilled. We hope to have the three of them to our house for a playdate and perhaps to have her sister’s family join us.
I reflect back on all of the forever families that I have been so privaledged to meet and in each the placement is so perfect. God does such good work and to him belong the praises for his handiwork.
