Heading Home

It my last day in California and I have time this morning to do a little work online and to get the car packed before going over the conference center for a little while. A short trip to the conference center and I have a chance to catch Bob’s session to learn more about kids talk radio. It was really interesting to learn more about his work. He has a group of kids that went to the North Pole last year and they are in the current issue of National Geographic magazine.
I made a short trip around the exhibit hall to follow up on a few leads and then it was time to get in the car and drive up to San Francisco. This was one good thing about the GPS is that it will find the Hertz dropoff location at any of the airports. I made it a little early to SFO. This is better than being late. I got through security easily and paid a high price for take on the airplane food as there were only 2 choices near my gate.
The flight home was late in leaving and there was some drama in that it mught be oversold. t turned out that it was not and even if it had been there was no way to get home the same day if you were bumped. I missed volunteering by one and that was the seat that would have gotten the last connection to get home the same day with $400 in Delta Dollars. Oh well.
I spent the flight grading papers and listening to the iPod on the way home. I arrived late and finally collected my bag and made the parking bus back to the car. The ride home was uneventful ride home. I was glad to get home to my own family along with getting a good night’s sleep in my own bed.
