Do you know the way to San Jose?

It has been a whirlwind of a day today. It started with waking early, but not getting out of bed as I turned over the tasks that must be accomplished today in my mind. This left me in the strange state between sleeping and being awake. I then hit the floor and the whirlwind began.
I got ready for school and got the truck cleaned out and the bags put in the truck. Hugs and kisses and I was off to school. All day was a constant state of motion as I worked to complete today’s tasks and prepare to be gone for the next 3 days. It is truly harder to be gone than to be at school. I printed reports for meetings that I could not attend.
I answered emails and dealt with not having signed in for a meeting way back at the opening of school. I got an email along with many people saying that I missed a makeup meeting on a topic. I had not been absent this year or missed any meetings. The email looked as though it was sent to the entire school so I did not attend the make-up meeting. Well the last chance makeup is when I am gone and those not attending will be reprimanded. I saw the Principal in the morning and by the afternoon had squared this away.
I then printed project sheets for students to work on while I am gone. I also handed out Parent Conference request letters to those borderline or failing. I also had students sign for these letters. Finally I got to write my lesson plans and completed this 3 minutes before the end of the day. Now it was rush to see my department head and explain the plans to him in case there were questions. I also left a copy with the AP as well. The last stop was the Principal to get checked off on the meetings that I had attended.
I then peeled out of the parking lot (no, seriously not peeled) to go home for 10 mintues. However, the other two were not home but in route. Off then to Subway at Walmart where they met me. I got a hug and kiss and questioned why I was not taking the Sheridan to California. I told him the next two trips to Louisville and Savannah were family trips. Then we would go on the cruise and before the end of the year fly to see his sister in Minneapolis for Christmas. I am not sure how much of this he bought. He just wanted me to come home.
No traffic worries on the way to the airport and the trip through security and to the gate was uneventful. Once at the gate, the fun began. The plane was late and is FULL. I am squeezed in next to the window like a Sardine in a can. The most interesting thing happened at the gate. An Asian lady decided that she did not need to wait in line or wait at all. The gate agents had gone down the ramp to check on the flight so that we could board. They had closed and secured the door behind them. This did not stop her. She approached the door and pushed and then pushed hard on the entry bar. Yes, it began buzzing and opened. She went in closing it behind her and disappeared while we all listened to the ear splitting buzzing alarm. She was eventually found and escorted back to the waiting area. This added another 15 minutes to an already late flight. Finally they silenced the buzzing and we began a quick board.
The flight has been uneventful. The TV screens are too washed out to see the movie, so I napped off and on while listening to music and writing. More tomorrow from San Jose.
