The Brown Envelope

Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .

In today’s mail came the LAST documents from our adoption journey. We got back the contents for the mysterious brown envelope that held all of Sheridan’s secret papers (seemed that way since you could not open it) that were to be given unopened to the Customs and Immigration Officers at the Airport.

I applied for these documents to be returned to us on January 24, 2008. Over 7 months for our SPEEDY government to return the contents of the mysterious brown envelope.

This is the last of our documents to be collected. On a slightly related note, I have only the taxes to do and all of the paperwork is complete. I am notorious for waiting until just before they are due to get them finished. The taxes and tax credit represent the last item to be done that is even remotely related to the process.

We received the 12 month at home report on 8/19/08, the last correspondence from the agency on 9/3/08 and today the brown envelope.

Everything, even paperwork comes to an end.

This is the chronicle of our adventures as a family with Sheridan.
