Consignment Sale Results
Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .
We got up early on Saturday to meet Mom and Dad for breakfast. Before breakfast, we registered to sell at a smaller local consignment sale. This would give us an outlet for any unsold items. We also had time to quickly go by the university and pickup my new laptop which had Windows XP Pro installed and Vista deleted.
Breakfast was very good and Sheridan enjoyed the buffet at the Golden Corral. Tonight we went to pickup our leftover items and to get our check. We sold over $500 worth of merchandise and netted a little under this after the 30% commission. We were really happy. We had 5 pairs of shoes that did not sell and 36 items of clothing. We sold 188 items and had about 50 returned. Some of the items we had marked for donation and so these were not returned. They will be a tax deduction.
We came home with more money than we had spent and were really pleased. The sale we registered for at a local church requires 25 minimum items and no more than 5 pairs of shoes. How convenient that we have just the right amount to qualify.
We did have one outfit that had a top, hat, pants and coat. It came back with just the coat and hat as someone helped themselves to the rest. How petty.
It was a great experience and made a huge dent in the garage clutter. The garage is on the ToDo list so that we can move the vehicles back inside. It has been awhile since they lived inside (about a year).
Yes, honey it will happen so that the cars return inside the garage.
