Consignment Sale Day and Visiting Friends

The 7th of August brought the Consignment Sale that we had been working very hard to be ready to sell clothes that he had outgrown, toys that he did not play with, items that were donated to us and clothes that we bought that were the wrong size (before we really knew his sizes). We had worked this week for 3 days to gather the items, tag them and enter them in the online database to price them. We had close to 300 items for sale including 2 strollers.

We were able to have Sheridan have one of his first playdates (on his own) with Baby Meron, Uncle Tymm and Aunt Laura. This was really great to have such good friends that we could call to help with the little guy. It also says a lot about how much Sheridan has progressed and grown in trust over the year. He had a great time at Aunt Laura’s and Uncle Tymm’s house. This allowed both of us to go and get these items checked in at the sale. This sale is held 4 times a year (twice in the fall and twice in the spring) and is one of the largest.

I was able to get 2 early preview passes to the sale. You are only allowed one, but I was able to snag a second. This is another advantage of selling items is that you get to go and purchase before the public. As a seller you come right after the volunteers and new parents who go in an hour before sellers. So with our second “Golden Ticket”, I quickly made a call to Donna. I wanted to see if Donna would let Sheridan come and play with Shelby, Caleb and Travis. The answer was yes and so Sheridan would get a second playdate without MaMa and BaBa in the same day. He had a great time with their kids and was very happy to continue to play when we arrived after our shopping.

It was nice for MaMa and BaBa to get to shop and spend a little time as a couple for the first time in a year. So, what did we talk about — Sheridan. What was our gourmet meal out together – Arby’s. Well it was still great. At the sale, we snagged a pair of Keens that I saw earlier, a wagon with trunk and a plastic picnic table. We also added a small mega blocks wagon with blocks. Sheridan can take Rainbow for wagon rides around the porch. Of course, we got clothes and shoes along with a Buzz Lightyear Video and Mulan Video. Toss in a couple of books and we had quite a night shopping.

We will be able to pickup our unsold items and check on Saturday.
