First Lie

Today while working on the consignment sale items – we caught our little guy in his first lie.

Sheridan went out the front door. This was OK for him to be on the Front Porch as we were working on the consignment sale and his desk. However, he went down the driveway. Mistake One. He also went and opened the car. Mistake Two. (I had cleaned out the car last night and had left a small pack of M&M’s (fun size) in the front floorboard. Yes, you guessed it. Mistake Three. He found these and opened them. He shows back up with this brown film of chocolate on his face. He cleaned up before the photo below. Sheridan – did you go off the front porch. No answer. Did you get in the car and eat M&M’s – NO. Several times NO in response to questions.

We all go down to the car and find the evidence below. He then served his sentence at the wailing wall for his lie and for leaving the porch. It was a little hard to administer his three minute punishment among our attempts to control our laughter. However, he told us he was sorry for eating the M&M’s after his visit to the wailing wall. Time spent here with swift correction and loving embraces afterward will shape his character to make him the person who will be proud of himself and able to understand cause and effect in life. We are shaping his character and raising our child to be a compassionate, honest, man of good character.
