Saturday, ah Saturday

Posted by BaBa under: Daily Life .

Well Saturday brought soccer day number 2 for Sheridan. More practice for the little guy. Unfortunately a number of his team members did not show.

They are working on drills and learning to dribble to the goal. Sheridan has the stop the ball (park it) down pat. He looks so professional with his poised foot atop the ball. Well, he is learning how to dribble. His idea before this Saturday was to kick the ball and then watch. We worked on getting across that you kick it hard and follow it to the goal. He is getting better with this. A byproduct of a number of kids not making it was that he got some more time with the volunteer coaches and with Coach BaBa (who knows very little, but is enthusiastic).

After soccer, we went home got cleaned up and then went looking for a batting helmet at Dick’s. He did not like the Walmart version as it is too tight and he has a bigger head. We enjoyed a meal at the Varsity and the little guy is getting the hang of this type of dinner. He is not yet eating the hot dog and the bun together, but treats each as separate items. However, he does enjoy them. He is also learning about hamburgers (a main stay in BaBa’s diet).
We then ventured downtown to IKEA. We found sound Dragon things for Sheridan’s room. Really were not looking for them, but as they are usually hard to find we got them.

e found out that Sheridan was tall enough to play in the play area by the outside measure. However the uninterested clerk who had many kids in the play area found a new measuring device and ruled him out after 20 minutes in line. Yikes. This ticked me off, but I got over it fairly quickly. It is hard to stay in such a mood when Sheridan is cracking himself up. He played where is (MaMa, BaBa, Sheridan, Rainbow) while we were shopping. All the while laughing at the answers he got or gave. He is a Happy Boy. All in all we had a good time while having a family day.

That is so Sheridan. It’s impossible to keep that boy down. Micah has started to ask for Sheridan and will then go find him in his photo album. We’re looking forward to seeing you this week!

Your little guy is adorable!

(My son is seven and has yet to grow out of eating his hot dog and bun separately 🙂 To him the purpose of a bun is so that you do not get ketchup on your hands…)
